The Pilot Training School was commissioned in 1969. The development of this training facility has made Zambia self-sufficient in meeting its requirements for pilots. This is accomplished through the engagement of highly qualified and experienced Instructors. Over the last 50 years, the Private Pilot training school has trained pilots for Zambia and the region.Zambia Air Services Training Institute currently offers accredited training in Private Pilot Licence.
The school has highly experienced instructors for both flight and ground trainings. In addition, ZASTI has equipped itself with all the necessary facilities: aircrafts (Cesena 152) and well equipped ground classrooms and computer based training room. The syllabus is developed based on Zambian Civil Aviation Authority Requirements and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Requirements. ZASTI Private Pilot Licence training follows a well-organized and logically sequenced integrated syllabus for the ground and flight training. The theoretical Knowledge Courses comprise a total time of 170 class hours.
